What is Your Dream Family Portrait

Each family is unique. Some are jokesters, others are formal, whatever personality your family is, Mark’s vision to capture that to show off WHO your family is. Maybe your family are huge Aggie fans, or loves to boating, or has a ranch, Mark can design a session around what your passionate about. From in-studio formal portraits, to on Texas A&M Campus, to your vacation destination, Mark will travel wherever you would love to have your dream family portrait created.

Designing Your Family Portrait Session

Mark looks at each family portrait similar to planning a vacation. When you think of going on vacation, the first thought is where. In similar thought, Mark’s first question is “Where are you planning to hang your family portrait?”. Just like with a vacation, selecting the destination will determine a vast number of other decisions, when, what to bring, what to wear and so forth. If you wish to hang your portrait in your living room over the fireplace, for example, what are the colors of the room, do you have a tall ceiling, is the room casual or formal in decor? All of these factors help Mark to determine what color clothing he will recommend to create color harmony with your room. If the portrait needs to be photographed vertically or horizontally to properly fill the space above your fireplace and what style of photography will best match the room. If your room is formal, then the portrait should be created with a formal feel. It is for all of these reasons Mark requires a consultation to help plan and design his client’s portrait sessions. Mark’s goal is when you stand back to view your portrait hanging in your home, you smile, and think “he captured us and this portrait fits our beautiful home perfectly”. Portraits should be more than just snapshots taken by just anyone with a camera, they should be given the same planning and consideration as planning your vacation or selecting a new couch, because, after all, your family will never be this age again, and the portrait will be something you will look at for many, many years to come… they’re often heirlooms passed down from generation to generation.
